We are once again back with Catwalk to Sidewalk, this time for Paris Fashion Week that ended a few days ago! You guys probably know this, Paris is where I live and grew up. It’s always strange to me to think about it as one of the biggest Fashion Capitals in the world as it is simply home to me, but I do have to admit, great designers were born and strived here. Let’s see what these big Fashion Houses came up with this time around!
One of my favorite looks during this Fashion Week hands down; I mean…look at those pants! I have to admit it wasn’t easy finding a pair that was as striking as this one but being a Free People girl at heart, I think these below do the Carven look justice. A perfect casual look that can be worn to the office or for evening drinks with your best girlfriends!
Not including Chanel in a Fashion Week round-up would have simply been impossible. As always, Karl Lagerfeld did a wonderful job with this new collection, always implementing new or up-coming trends to classics like the famous tweed jacket. If you are a fan of the brand, here is how you can recreate this look at home:
Definitely my favorite from Paris Fashion Week. I feel like I could just run in a magical forest with this on or something. When I look at this outfit, a lot of beautiful images from fantasy worlds come to mind. Now, if you will want to recreate this at home, it will require a bit of a DIY. This skirt is a very strong element here and is super unique. The only way I thought this would work would be if rhinestones were carefully glued on top of the skirt to give it that dream-like effect. You should try it!
I love this look for 2 reasons : 1- It’s very simple therefore easy to recreate; 2- Spring 2017 marks the use of colors usually considered like “fall” colors; and Miu Miu definitely showcases that as well as bringing a little classic Spring touch with the shoes. I know we don’t all have Gigi Hadid’s legs but I would definitely try to rock this easy-to-do combo like so:
I could not end Paris Fashion Week without presenting one of Sonia Rykiel’s latest looks. Maybe it is a first name thing, maybe it is my way of paying my respects for this great designer’s passing in August. Regardless, I am completely loving this look that totally reminds me of old Sabrina The Teenage Witch episodes (like this look anyone?). To make what I have found completely match with the look, I would again do a quick DIY. I would cut the top from the neck down in the middle until about halfway, sew black ribbon around the cut and keep some to hang around the neckline, like on the picture!
How did you guys like Paris Fashion Week? Any favorite looks?
And what was your favorite Fashion Week for Spring RTW 2017? Even though I really liked all of them, if I had to choose, I would probably say NYFW had a lot of really great looks that I loved!
That is it for Catwalk to Sidewalk for now but I will write to you guys soon with exciting news!!
