New York Fashion Week – Catwalk to Sidewalk

Hey guys!!

So New York Fashion Week started last week and it gave me an idea: why not take 5 looks from the best shows at each Fashion Week and find affordable alternatives for those outfits? Does that sound good to you? Here are my 5 best options for New York Fashion Week!

Alexander Wang:

Who else here is picturing this Britney & Justin pic circa 2001? In all seriousness though, the whole collection felt like I was back in high school. I loved how he mixed prints and colors, even being bold enough to mix neon colors, to show that fashion has no rules. And this full on denim look proves that you can totally pair distressed denim jeans with its matching jacket while still looking fabulous! Check out this more affordable version of the look:

Jacket – The Ragged PriestJeans – MoussyBra – MissguidedSneakers – H&MBag – Zara

Alice + Olivia:

Saying that I’m not completely obsessed with this look would be a total lie. Wearing this, I would feel like I am in an old movie where the girl looses her head scarf because of the wind in those convertible cars. The entire collection was to die for but this was one of my favorite looks, although it was hard to choose! Here is how you can recreate it yourself:

Bustier – H&M, Jeans – Levi’s, Coat – Zara, Sunglasses – Quay Australia, Headscarf – Forever 21, Bag – Steve Madden, Shoes – Chinese Laundry

Time for this grungy but feminine collection to hit us like a wave. Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by this one and didn’t expect this from Coach! The native New York brand did a fantastic job and I absolutely adore this combo! You can try it this way:

Blouse – Lipsy, Skirt – Freda, Choker – Nasty Gal, Bag – Under One Sky, Bracelets – Forever 21, Shoes – Boohoo

Marc Jacobs:

Marc Jacobs’ collection was definitely the most surprising one. But then again, can you ever be surprised by his genius-like craziness (Panic! Said it, not me!)? I felt like I was just transported into the biggest rave there was, or had been dropped into Netflix’s latest teen movie, XOXO (which you should see if you have not). It was super hard to choose a favorite look but if you’re thinking of going to EDC or any similar event soon, you should try this one out:

Top & Skirt – Minga London, Denim jacket – Only, Thigh-high socks – Dolls Kill, Belt – H&M, Ring – Missguided, Bag – Lenore by La Regale, Shoes – Office

Ahhh the collection that actually screams “Spring”. You so wish you could wear something like this outfit to work tomorrow, don’t you? It’s no secret that I love white, so choosing this all white outfit was a no brainer. But the whole collection made me want to dance in a huge field of flowers. It’s your turn to rock this look and here’s how you can do so:

Top – Nasty Gal, Pants – Greylin, Bracelet – Heidi Klein, Earrings – Zara, Boots – Boohoo, Silver belt – Forever 21, White belt – Missguided
